Where else can I see red squirrels?

 Red squirrels can be seen in the wild in the following parts of the UK.

  • Isle of Wight
  • Anglesey
  • Scottish Borders
  • Scottish Highlands
  • Fursey and Brownsea Islands, Poole Harbour, Dorset
  • Isle of Mull
  • Ulster and Eire

Additionally, there are captive-bred populations of red squirrels in a number of zoos and wildlife parks throughout the UK, many of which are part of a captive breeding programme that aims to ensure there will always be native red squirrels somewhere in the UK. Good sites include:
